Abstract:
This image forming device is provided with: a color material image forming unit; an image holding body that holds a color material image formed by the color material image forming unit and that is driven to rotate; a transfer member that sandwiches a recording medium conveyed from the upstream side between the transfer member and the image holding body and is driven to rotate so as to convey the recording medium to the downstream side and that transfers the color material image to the recording medium; and a contact/separation mechanism that causes relative contact/separation between the image holding body and the transfer member. The image forming device is configured to, if an abnormality has been detected, perform operation in a mode where, after the contact/separation mechanism causes the image holding body and the transfer member to be relatively separated from each other, the rotational driving of the image holding body has been stopped and thereafter the rotational driving of the transfer member is stopped.
