Abstract:
A compositing technique for joining multiple original images together, with which a composite image is generated while suppressing the influence of image quality deterioration attributable to optical characteristics of an imaging system. Weights to be assigned to respective pixels of the images to be captured are set in advance in accordance with the optical characteristics of the imaging system. By using a mask M, that is, an extracted area having weights equal to or greater than a certain threshold value, a mask arrangement for entirely masking an imaging object region within a well W is determined. The multiple original images are captured using a layout corresponding to the mask arrangement, and the original images are composited after the pixels of the respective images are weighted.
