Abstract:
Provided is an image input apparatus that can obtain a high resolution even by use of a compound-eye optical system. An image input apparatus comprises: a compound-eye optical system that comprises a plurality of facet optical systems arranged in parallel and that is integrally configured; an image sensor that has a plurality of areas on which respective optical images are focused by the respective facet optical systems and that transforms the optical images focused on the areas to image signals; and a color filter that comprises plural-colored filters disposed between the facet optical systems and the corresponding respective ones of the aforementioned areas. Colored filters for passing therethrough optical wavelength ranges, which are used for extracting brightness signals, in the color filter are disposed between focus detection areas, which are included in the plurality of areas of the image sensor and used for detecting focus positions, and the respective facet optical systems corresponding to the focus detection areas.
