Abstract:
A reception unit of an image monitor system receives captured images from a plurality of monitor cameras that capture the respective images of different ones of image capture areas (a-d) of a place (P). A control unit of the image monitor system performs a control to display on the screen the images received by the reception unit. An operation unit of the image monitor system accepts operations of designating image capture areas (b, d). If the images of the image capture areas (a-d) are to be displayed on the screen by the control unit, an instruction unit of the image monitor system instructs the plurality of monitor cameras to transmit the captured images in a first format. If the images of the image capture areas (b, d) are to be displayed on the screen by the control unit, the instruction unit instructs the monitor cameras capturing the images of the image capture areas (b, d) to transmit the captured images in a second format the data amount of which is larger than the data amount of the first format.
