Abstract:
Provided is an image pickup apparatus that makes it possible to alleviate fixed pattern noise that appears in multiple-exposure photography, and attain a high-grade multiple-exposure image. The image pickup apparatus is characterized by: obtaining a plurality of exposure-image data items, by exposing an image pickup element to light and picking up images; carrying out image processing on the plurality of exposure-image data items; generating composite exposure-image data by compositing the plurality of exposure-image data items output by the image processing means; obtaining a plurality of dark image data items; generating one dark reference image data item using the plurality of dark image data items; carrying out, on the one dark reference image data item, image processing that uses a parameter based on image processing to be carried out on each of the plurality of exposure-image data items, and outputting a plurality of post-processing dark image data items; generating composite dark image data by compositing the plurality of post-processing dark image data items output by the image processing means; and correcting the composite exposure-image data on the basis of the composite dark image data.
