Abstract:
An image pickup apparatus includes a wide dynamic range image synthesizing processing unit that generates synthesized image data by synthesizing a plurality of image data generated by capturing an image of a subject using an image pickup unit, an exposure compensation processing unit that obtains image data for a single shot generated by capturing an image of the subject using the image pickup unit under a preset exposure condition, and a control unit that if the synthesizing command to control the operation performed by the wide dynamic range image synthesizing processing unit and an exposure setting command to control the operation performed by the exposure compensation processing unit are received by a communication unit, selectively operates both the processing units. The communication unit sends a normal response for each of the commands when the synthesizing command and the exposure setting command are received.
