Abstract:
Provided is an image pickup apparatus, wherein the frequency characteristic of a point spread function is improved, to achieve a shaking correction with higher precision. The image pickup apparatus, which picks up images with an image pickup unit (10), comprises: a control unit (40) for conducting control of signal modulation that decreases or increases the signal level of the image signal obtained by the image pickup unit (10), during an exposure period that is a period from the start to end of exposure when the image pickup unit (10) is to pick up an image; and a shaking correction unit (52) for implementing a shaking correction to the signal-modulated image signal.
