Abstract:
Provided is an image pickup device that includes: a focal plane shutter including a substrate having an opening, a curtain that runs to open/close the opening, an actuator that causes the curtain to run, and a detection section that detects passage of the curtain at a predetermined position; an image pickup element on which light is incident via the opening; and a driving control section that controls the actuator so as to cause the curtain to run, wherein the driving control section executes a running control operation of causing the curtain to run at least up to before the curtain passes the predetermined position, and executes a braking control operation of decelerating the curtain that is running after passing the predetermined position.
