Abstract:
Provided is an image pickup device characterized by being provided with the following: a reception unit (29) for receiving a first image surface movement coefficient determined in accordance with the position of a focal point adjusting optical system (33), a second image surface movement coefficient that is not dependent on the position of the focal point adjusting optical system (33), and noise reduction speed determined in accordance with the driving sound of the focal point adjusting optical system (33); a determination unit (21) for determining the searching speed when searching for a focal point evaluation value using contrast AF; a control unit (21) for carrying out control, using the first image surface movement coefficient, so that the focal point adjusting optical system (33) is driven at the searching speed; and a judging unit (21) for judging, using the second image surface movement coefficient and the noise reduction speed, whether to allow searching for the focal point evaluation value of the contrast AF at a speed different from the searching speed.
