Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an image pickup device, an image pickup method, and a program, all of which enable suppressing of blurring of a subject image and performing of dynamic range expansion processes appropriate for a dark scene and a bright scene while maintaining a preset frame rate. This image pickup device is provided with: an image pickup unit; a first dynamic range expansion process unit (301) which carries out a dynamic range expansion process by generating a single composite image from a plurality of captured images; a second dynamic range expansion process unit (303) which carries out a dynamic range expansion process by correcting an output value of one captured image; and a control unit (305) which, on the basis of a sum of the time of a single frame period and the exposure time when capturing a plurality of images, causes the first or second dynamic range expansion process unit to carry out the process thereof.
