Disclosed is an image pickup device, which is provided with a plurality of image pickup elements that pick up images formed by a plurality of lens units. In the image pickup device, the length of a base line is suitably set, and operations of adjusting alignment of the image pickup elements and operations of fixing the image pickup elements are easily and reliably performed. The control boards (120, 150) of the image pickup elements (110, 140) are firmly bonded to a holding plate (130) by means of fixing members (160) which are composed of ultraviolet transmitting members. Between the bottom surface portions of the fixing members (160) and the holding plate (130), and between the side surface portions of the fixing members (160) and the outer surface portions of the control boards (120, 150) are bonded and fixed using an ultraviolet curable resin. After the control boards (120, 150) are bonded and fixed to the holding plate (130) using the ultraviolet curable resin, the lens units are bonded and fixed on the holding plate (130).
