Abstract:
In the present invention, an image pickup device comprises the following: an image pickup optical system for forming an optical image of a subject on an image forming surface; a zoom lens that is a portion of the image pickup optical system, is provided so as to be movable in the optical axis direction of the image pickup optical system, and that, in accordance with such movement, enlarges or reduces the optical image formed on the image pickup surface; a position detection unit that detects the zoom-lens optical axis direction position; a storage unit that stores output-characteristic information which relates to the characteristics of the output of the position detection unit, such output corresponding to the zoom-lens optical axis direction position; and a drive control unit that carries out control for moving the zoom lens on the basis of the output-characteristic information.
