Abstract:
An image pickup element and an image pickup device using the image pickup element are provided with a switching gate which mutually couples a plurality of accumulation/vertical transmission CCD cells of a plurality of different photodiodes. Among the switching gates, the switching gate mutually couples the accumulation/vertical transmission CCD cells corresponding to each photodiode of the photodiode relating to measurement performed by the photodiode and of the photodiode not relating to such measurement. The signal charge of the photodiode is accumulated and stored in the corresponding accumulation CCD cell and in the accumulation CCD cell that corresponds to the photodiode.
