Abstract:

The purpose of the present invention is to provide an image pickup system, a control device, a control method, and a control program that enable an image having the appropriate brightness to be obtained, regardless of the type of light source. This endoscope system 1 is provided with the following: an endoscope 2 that comprises an image pickup element 22 provided with an electronic shutter function, and that picks up an image of a subject; a first light source 351 that emits illumination light for illuminating the subject and a second light source 52 of an external light source device 5; a light source identification unit 371 that identifies the type of the light source used for observation; and an electronic shutter control unit 375 that controls the electronic shutter function of the image pickup element 22 on the basis of a control pattern which is in accordance with the type of light source identified by the light source identification unit 371.
