Abstract:
An image pickup system (70) disposed at the rear of a mobile body (100) is provided with an image pickup device (10), and an image processing device (20). The image pickup device (10) includes: an image pickup element, which has a plurality of pixels that are two-dimensionally disposed, and which generates image data; and an optical system that forms an object image on the image pickup surface of the image pickup element. The image processing device (20) generates a picked up image on the basis of the image data. The image pickup surface includes a first region corresponding to a first field angle, and a second region corresponding to a second field angle that is larger than the first field angle. The optical system is configured such that the resolution of the first region is higher than the resolution of the second region excluding the first region. The center of the first region is disposed at a position shifted from the center of the image pickup surface.
