Abstract:
Provided is an image pickup system that simultaneously carries out image pickup of a visible image and image pickup of an infrared image, and that can use data on the distance to a subject together with a visible image of the subject, for example. An image sensor 10 includes: a color filter 10b; and a digital band-pass filter (DBPF) 7d that has transmission characteristics in the visible light band, that has blocking characteristics in a first wavelength band which is adjacent to the long-wavelength side of the visible light band, and that has transmission characteristics in a second wavelength band that is a portion within the first wavelength band. A signal processing unit 21 outputs a visible image signal and an infrared image signal on the basis of the signals output from the pixels of the image sensor 10. Due to this configuration, the visible image can be displayed and the distance to the subject can be measured using the infrared image.
