Abstract:
Disclosed are an image processing apparatus and an image processing method using a maximum display luminance value of a mastering display or a maximum display luminance value of a target display according to luminance characteristics of the current scene of an encoded image. In addition, also disclosed are an apparatus and a method, based on the outputted image of a display, capable of generating metadata which include the maximum display luminance value.
