Abstract:
Provided is an image processing apparatus the calculation cost of which is low. The image processing apparatus is provided with a control means that sets a plurality of planes that form a layer in at least one direction in three dimensional space, sets one plane among the planes as a reference plane, and forms an image on the basis of the relationship between the positions of a visual axis and the reference plane. The image processing apparatus is further provided with a first forming means that, upon forming an image on a near-side plane, among a plurality of planes existing in superimposition in the visual axis direction, positioned at the near side along the visual axis, forms the image at a portion where the near-side plane and a back-plane positioned at the back of the near-side plane are superimposed, on the basis of the degree of opacity of the near-side plane. For planes positioned more to the near side along the visual axis than the reference plane, the control means makes the first forming means form an image with priority given to a plane among the plurality of planes that is nearer to the reference plane.
