Abstract:

An image processing apparatus (100) comprises: a first band limiting unit (10) that reduces noise included in an input image; and a recovering unit (20) that subjects the noise-reduced image, which is the input image as subjected to the noise reduction process in the first band limiting unit (10), to a recovering process that recovers the image information being other than noise and having been degraded because of having been subjected to the noise reduction process. The recovering unit (20) comprises: a difference calculating unit (21) that calculates the difference between the input image and the noise-reduced image; a predicted noise acquiring unit (26) that acquires a predicted noise amount predicted to be included in the input image; a correction signal generating unit (22) that generates a correction signal to correct the noise-reduced image such that the absolute value of the difference is within the range of the predicted noise amount; and an image combining unit (23) that corrects the noise-reduced image on the basis of the correction signal.
