Abstract:
This image processing apparatus tracks a to-be-tracked object included in a plurality of continuously photographed images, and has: an image acquisition means for acquiring images; and a tracking means for detecting a to-be-tracked object included in the images through matching, and acquiring the movement amount and the moving direction of the to-be-tracked object among the images, wherein the tracking means executes first matching by using a first template that corresponds to the to-be-tracked object, and, when the score of the result of executing the first matching is lower than a first threshold value, executes second matching by using a second template different in size or shape from the first template.
