Abstract:
An image processing apparatus (102) is provided with: a brightness-saturation position detection unit (110) for detecting a brightness-saturation position, which is a position where a brightness value becomes greater than a prescribed value in a captured image; a brightness inclination detection unit (112) for detecting the inclination of brightness at the surroundings of the brightness saturation position; a light-source image prediction unit (105) for predicting brightness distribution on a face of a picked-up image formed by a subject picked up at the brightness saturation position, such that the brightness value will become greater as the brightness inclination becomes greater, on the basis of an image at the brightness saturation position, a Point Spread Function (PSF) image corresponding to the brightness saturation position, and the brightness inclination; and an unnecessary-light subtraction unit (106) for subtracting the brightness value of unnecessary light from the captured image, using the brightness distribution.
