Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an image processing device, an image capturing apparatus, an image processing method, and a program, which are capable of accurately determining a main subject region and a background region using an image which is obtained by two times of photographing including proper photographing and in which the influence of noise, blur caused by subject movement, and the influence of hand movement are suppressed. An image processing device (31) according to a preferred aspect of the present invention is provided with: an image acquisition unit (41) which acquires a first captured image signal indicating a first flash light emission image obtained by proper photographing with flash light being emitted, and a second captured image signal indicating a second flash light emission image obtained by photographing, as a reference, the same scene as that of the first flash light emission image with flash light being emitted in an exposure time different from the exposure time of the first flash light emission image; a ratio calculation unit (43) which calculates the signal ratio between the first captured image signal and the second captured image signal in each region; and a determination unit (45) which determines a main subject region and a background region according to a threshold value.
