Abstract:
A first periphery pixel located in the periphery of a pixel of interest is referenced and a contour-enhanced component generated that is processed by a contour-enhancement processing filter; a second periphery pixel that is contained in a smaller range than the first periphery pixel is referenced and a determination made as to whether the pixel of interest is a level part or an edge part; if the pixel of interest is an edge part, the contour-enhanced component is superpositioned upon the pixel of interest and outputted as an output pixel; and if the pixel of interest is a level part, the pixel of interest is outputted as the output pixel. It is thus possible to provide an image processing device capable of alleviating noise that occurs near edge parts when carrying out contour-enhancement processing upon an inputted image.
