Abstract:
Provided are an image processing device, an endoscope system, and operation method for an image processing device by which it is possible to perform extraction while maintaining the shape of minute blood vessels or a hemorrhaging range by using a medical image in which an observation subject is captured at an appropriate magnification, and to increase the accuracy of processing pertaining to an illness. An image acquisition unit (50) acquires a medical image acquired by imaging the observation subject illuminated by illumination light including short wavelength narrow band light, the observation subject being magnified to equal to or greater than a first magnification and less than a second magnification that is greater than the first magnification. An illness-related processing unit (66) performs processing related to an illness on the basis of the medical image.
