Abstract:
The present invention reduces the probability that an object (a specific object) of a virtual viewpoint image overlaps a virtual object region. The present invention comprises: a first specifying means for specifying the three-dimensional position of a specific object captured by a plurality of cameras from different directions; a second specifying means for specifying the three-dimensional position of a virtual viewpoint concerning generation of a virtual viewpoint image based on captured images acquired by the plurality of cameras; and a determination means for determining, on the basis of the three-dimensional position of the specific object specified by the first specifying means and the three-dimensional position of the virtual viewpoint specified by the second specifying means, the position of a virtual object region where a virtual object to be displayed on the virtual viewpoint image is arranged.
