Title:
IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND IMAGE DISPLAY SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/049709
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The disclosure of the present invention relates to an image processing device, an image processing method, and an image display system that enable an interval to an obstacle to be grasped with less sight-line movement. In the present invention, a stereo image capturing device captures a stereo image with a measurement target range in front of a vehicle as the angle of field, and a display device is disposed so as to cover at least part of the measurement target range as seen from the viewpoint position of a driver inside the vehicle. A distance measurement unit measures the distances to other objects in the measurement target range using the stereo image and identifies other objects that lie within a prescribed distance as obstacles. An image generating unit assumes that a mirror is virtually disposed above a direction in which obstacles are seen from the viewpoint position of the driver in the vehicle, generates a virtual mirror image that allows at least the vehicle and the obstacles to be seen using a reflection by this mirror, and causes the display device to display the virtual mirror image. The technology of the present invention can be applied, for example, to in-vehicle image display systems.
