Abstract:

An imaging device 100 mounted in a moving vehicle comprises an image synthesis unit 102 for generating a synthesized image from a plurality of images acquired by an imaging unit 101. An external information acquisition unit 103 acquires external information (moving vehicle position information, map information, road information, and the like). A photometric unit 104 measures luminance information for an imaging region pertaining to the imaging unit 101. The image synthesis unit 102 initiates the process for generating a synthesized image in correspondence with the external information acquisition unit 103 having acquired the external information. An image output unit 105 performs, on the basis of the result of measurement by the photometric unit 104, a process for outputting an image that is not synthesized by the image synthesis unit 102 or the synthesized image that was generated by the image synthesis unit 102.
