Abstract:
An improved noise reduction effect is to be achieved. The components are a photographic mode selection unit (104) that selects one of multiple photographic modes, and a noise reduction processing unit (110) that performs noise reduction processing of a specific signal value region of an input image signal using an adaptive noise model that utilizes a noise model that is different from a standard noise model and is determined from imaging element characteristics, when the photographic mode selected by the photographic mode selection unit (104) is a specific photographic mode.
