Abstract:
[Problem] To automatically determine the main subject in a captured image. [Solution] This image processing device detects the change in time of the distance of subjects present inside an image from the imaging position, and on the basis of this detection determines the subjects' tendency of moving closer to or farther away from the imaging position. Then, the main subject is determined on the basis of the tendency determined for each subject of moving closer or farther away (the approaching tendency or retreating tendency).
