Abstract:
The present technology pertains to an image processing device and method and a program capable of improving operability. A close-distance image separation unit generates, on the basis of a cut-out image cut out from an input image image-captured by an image-capturing unit and a distance image indicating a distance in each area of the cut-out image to a subject, a close-distance image indicating a close-distance subject present on the image-capturing unit side. A contour extraction unit extracts the contour of the close-distance image and makes the extracted contour as an adjustment image. A display image generation unit generates an output image on the basis of the adjustment image and causes the generated image to be displayed by an image display unit. A user moves his or her hand so that his or her hand overlaps a hand area of the output image while watching the output image displayed on the image display unit. An XY calculation unit calculates, on the basis of the adjustment image at different times of day, an amount of correction for the display position of the image. The present technology can be applied to a head-mount display.
