Abstract:
Provided is an image processing device, and the like, that can appropriately extract a representative image even in a case where it is difficult to continuously pick up images, in a stable state, of a subject due to changes in the characteristics of an organism and in the image pickup conditions. An image processing device (1) comprises: a detection unit (110) that detects an abnormal region from a series of images acquired by sequentially picking up images of the inside of a lumen of the organism, and that extracts abnormal images which include the abnormal region; a proximity range setting unit (120) that sets, as a time-sequence proximity range, the proximity range of abnormal images in the series of images which are arranged in time-sequence order; an abnormal image group extraction unit (130) that, on the basis of the time-sequence proximity range, extracts an abnormal image group from the abnormal images extracted by the detection unit (110), the images of the group including the same abnormal region; and a representative image extraction unit (140) that extracts a representative image from the abnormal image group. The proximity range setting unit (120) sets, as the time-sequence proximity range, a range that is wider than the intervals between the images which are continuous in a time sequence in the series of images.
