Abstract:
An initial high-resolution image (D2) is generated (2) by projecting a low-resolution image (DIN) into a high-resolution image space, an intermediate-resolution image (D31) is generated by projecting the low-resolution image (DIN) into an intermediate-resolution image space, and the intermediate-resolution image (D31) is subjected to interpolation enlargement, thereby generating (3) an intermediate-resolution enlarged image (D3). Undefined pixel values in the initial high-resolution image (D2) are estimated (4) using the pixel values of the corresponding pixels in the intermediate-resolution enlarged image (D3). Even using a small number of low-resolution images it is possible to generate a high-resolution image having a high image quality, with improved precision.
