Abstract:
The present technology pertains to an image-processing device, method, and program with which it is possible to detect an object to be tracked at a higher speed. The present technology detects an object to be tracked from a dynamic image by using motion detection, and tracks the detected object to be tracked in each frame of the dynamic image. Motion detection may, e.g., be performed using a difference between the present and the past frames of the dynamic image, and, for each moving entity detected, a partial area including the moving entity may be set, with one of the partial areas being designated as the object to be tracked. Also, a partial area satisfying a prescribed condition among the partial areas that include the moving entity may, e.g., be designated as an effective area, and one of the effective areas may be designated as the object to be tracked. The present technology can, for example, be applied in an image processing device.
