Abstract:

The present invention improves the reliability with which a watermark embedded in a color image is detected. According to the present invention, an image data acquisition means (102) of an image processing device (10) acquires image data. On the basis of pixel values for an image represented by the image data acquired by the image data acquisition means (102), a histogram generation means (104) generates a histogram for each region of the image. A region selection means (105) selects, from within the image, a region that has a sparse color distribution in the histogram generated by the histogram generation means (104). An image processing means (106) embeds a watermark in the region selected by the region selection means (105).
