Abstract:
The present invention reduces the capacity of a frame memory and the amount of access thereto, which are required when cyclic noise reduction processing is performed. Provided is an image processing device (300) equipped with: a multiresolution decomposition unit (301) which decomposes an input image into a plurality of resolution images; a frame memory (331) which holds, as a reference image, a cyclic image of an immediately preceding frame; a motion vector detection unit (332) which, with one of images having lower resolution than the input image among the plurality of resolution images as a standard image, detects a motion vector between the standard image and the reference image; a motion compensation unit (333) which makes motion compensation for the reference image on the basis of the motion vector to generate a motion-compensated image; a cyclic noise reduction unit (330) which synthesizes the standard image and the motion-compensated image to generate a noise-reduced standard image that becomes a new cyclic image; and a multiresolution synthesis unit (302) which synthesizes the noise-reduced standard image and a resolution image other than the standard image among the plurality of resolution images.
