Abstract:
The present invention provides a device and a method for executing highly accurate and efficient parallax map generation and object detection processing. The present invention includes: a parallax calculation unit which receives two images which have been captured from different viewpoints, calculates a parallax, and generates a parallax map; and a classification unit which applies the parallax map and executes an object detection process. The parallax calculation unit executes a stereo matching process to which an image having a non-magnified resolution is applied, generates, from a processed result, cost volumes that correspond to a plurality of resolutions, and generates and outputs, to the classification unit, the parallax maps and object candidate area maps that correspond to a plurality of different resolutions by using the cost volume that corresponds to each resolution.
