Abstract:
Provided are a device and a method for performing a process of enhancing the quality of a low quality image such as a far-infrared image. The present invention includes an image correction unit which repeatedly performs an image correction process by using a plurality of processing units of at least two stages. The image correction unit receives input of a low quality image that is to be corrected and input of a high quality image that is to be used as a reference image. The processing units of the respective stages each perform a correction process on the low quality image by applying a class-corresponding correction coefficient that corresponds to a feature quantity extracted from a degraded image of the high quality image. Compared to a later-stage processing unit, an earlier-stage processing unit performs the correction process by applying a class-corresponding correction coefficient that corresponds to a feature quantity extracted from an image having a greater degradation level. The correction coefficients are generated in advance through a learning process.
