Abstract:
The present invention provides a device and method for executing processing for enhancing the quality of a far-infrared image. This image processing device comprises: a first synthesis unit to which a far-infrared image and a plurality of reference images obtained by photographing the same subject as the far-infrared image are inputted, and which generates a first synthesis signal that is a synthesis signal of the plurality of reference images; and a second synthesis unit which generates an enhanced quality image of the far-infrared image by synthesis processing of the far-infrared image and the first synthesis signal. The reference images are, for example, a visible light image and a near-infrared image, and the first synthesis unit generates the first synthesis signal on the basis of the amount of correlation between the visible light image and the far-infrared image and the amount of correlation between the near-infrared image and the far-infrared image, and generates the first synthesis signal by setting high the contribution rate of an image having a larger amount of correlation with the far-infrared image out of two images: the visible light image and the near-infrared image.
