Abstract:
This imaging system 10 uses a plurality of imaging devices 20-1 to 20-6 and polarization elements 21-1 to 21-6 to acquire a plurality of polarized images having different polarization directions and viewpoint positions. An image processing device 30 classifies pixels subject to depth calculation into pixels having texture information and pixels not having texture information on the basis of an epipolar plane image generated from the plurality of polarized images. The epipolar plane image is used to calculate the slopes of pixels having texture information. A polarized epipolar plane image is used to calculate the slopes of pixels not having texture information. Converting the calculated slopes into depths makes it possible to calculate not only the depths of pixels that have texture information, but also the depths of pixels that do not have texture information.
