Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to automatically and precisely extract a profile of a region indicating a diagnosis subject organ in a medical image, even when the profile has an unusual shape. Provided is an image processing device comprising: an image input unit for inputting captured medical images of a diagnosis subject; a storage unit pre-stored with a plurality of overall profile patterns indicating the overall profile of the diagnosis subject and a plurality of partial profile patterns indicating profiles of parts of the diagnosis subject; an initial profile setting unit for applying, to the diagnosis subject, the overall profile pattern, among the plurality of overall profile patterns, that most closely resembles the shape of the diagnosis subject to set an initial profile; a feature quantity calculating unit for calculating feature quantities indicating the profile of the diagnosis subject; and a profile line extracting unit for pattern-matching the initial profile and the profile of the diagnosis subject to correct the initial profile and obtain an overall profile, and using the feature quantities to perform pattern matching of a plurality of partial profiles, obtained by dividing up the overall profile, with the partial profile patterns to gradually correct the overall profile, thereby extracting a profile line for the subject region.
