Abstract:
A polarized image capture unit 20 acquires and outputs a polarized image of an object to an image processing unit 30. An interpolation processing unit 31 of an image processing device 30 performs an interpolation process using the polarized image acquired by the polarized image capture unit 20, and generates an image signal for each polarized component and each color component. A component image generation unit 32 calculates a specular reflection component and a diffuse reflection component for each pixel and each color component, and generates, as component images, a specular reflection image indicating specular reflection components, and a diffuse reflection image indicating diffuse reflection components. A target image generation unit 33 sets a gain for each pixel of each component image on the basis of the component image using a trained model. Further, the target image generation unit 33 adjusts the level of each pixel of each component image in accordance with the gain set for the pixel, and generates a target image, e.g., a high texture image, from the component images that have been subjected to the level adjustment.
