Abstract:
The present invention provides a technology of further precisely estimating noise intensity even if a video image includes a region having a large amount of texture or motion. The image processing device 1 is provided with an in-frame noise distribution estimating unit 11, an inter-frame noise distribution estimating unit 12, and a noise intensity determining unit 13. The in-frame noise distribution estimating unit 11 estimates an in-frame noise distribution in a frame image included in a video image on the basis of the pixel value belonging to a flat region where change in the pixel value is flat. The inter-frame noise distribution estimating unit 12 estimates an inter-frame noise distribution between a frame image and the adjacent frame image on the basis of the pixel value belonging to a region where there is no motion, in a difference image which indicates difference between the frame image and the adjacent frame. The noise intensity determining unit 13 determines the noise intensity in the frame image on the basis of the smaller one of either the in-frame noise distribution or the inter-frame noise distribution.
