Abstract:
In order to achieve an image processing device capable of accurately detecting a pupil region, this image processing device (6) for identifying the characteristics of an eye from an image of a human face is provided with: a second differentiation unit (41) for differentiating an eye region containing an eye in an image of a face in at least the vertical direction of the eye, and requesting an intensity gradient thereof; a binarization unit (42) for subjecting the eye region to binarization of the intensity gradient, and extracting an edge point; and an eyelid outline identification unit (44) for identifying a curved line that expresses the outline of the upper or lower eyelid, conforms to the edge point, and is expressed by a control point and both end points, the end points being the points at the inner and outer canthus of the eye.
