Abstract:
This disclosure relates to an image processing device and method that make it possible to more appropriately remove block distortion to enhance the quality of a decoded image. A deblocking filter controller, on the basis of quad-tree structure information from an adaptive offset unit, determines whether or not the target area of a deblocking filter process is the boundary of a target area of an adaptive offset process. When the target area of the deblocking filter process is the boundary of the target area of the adaptive offset process, the deblocking filter controller provides the deblocking filter with control information for increasing the filter strength. This disclosure, for example, can be applied to an image processing device.
