Abstract:
This disclosure pertains to an image processing device and method which make it possible to dramatically suppress an encoding and decoding load. The image processing device and method clip a conversion coefficient obtained by subjecting a predictive residual which is the difference between an image and the predictive image thereof to conversion processing, at a prescribed upper-limit value and/or lower-limit value. Alternatively, the image processing device and method clip a conversion coefficient from which a predictive residual which is the difference between an image and the predictive image thereof can be obtained via a reverse conversion processing, at the prescribed upper-limit value and/or lower-limit value. This disclosure is applicable, for example, to an image processing device, an image encoding device, an image decoding device, or the like.
