Abstract:
This disclosure relates to an image processing device and method that make it possible to suppress decrease in subjective image quality. A current block for prediction processing for generating a prediction image of an image to be coded is set with a size corresponding to the size of a peripheral block located around the current block, the prediction image is generated by performing intra prediction processing on the set current block, and the image to be coded is coded using the generated prediction image. This disclosure is applicable, for example, to an image processing device, an image coding device, an image decoding device and the like.
