Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an image processing device and an image processing method which enable, when intra-prediction is extended to enhance prediction accuracy, a reduction in an overhead of an encoding process. A selection unit takes, as a line, a group of pixels having the same distance to a current block, and selects, from a basic intra-prediction mode which is an intra-prediction mode at the time of referring to a number 1 line that is the nearest line to the current block, and an extension intra-prediction mode which is an intra-prediction mode at the time of referring to lines after the number 1 line, an intra-prediction mode and a reference line that is a line referred to at the time of intra-predicting the current block. The extension intra-prediction mode is a part of the basic intra-prediction mode. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, a pixel encoding device or the like.
