Abstract:
The present disclosure pertains to an image processing device and method with which it is possible to minimize a decrease in encoding efficiency. A time resolution degree for each partial region of image data to be encoded is set, the image data is encoded, and a bit stream including information that indicates the set time resolution degree for each of the partial regions is generated. Alternatively, information indicating the time resolution degree for each partial region of image data, which is included in a bit stream obtained by encoding the image data, is analyzed. The present disclosure can be applied to, e.g., an image processing device, a bit stream conversion device, an image encoding device, an image decoding device, or a communication device, etc.
