Abstract:
A motion vector correction unit configured from a correction method determination unit 40 and an inter prediction unit 42 performs a scaling process on the motion vector of a current prediction block, e.g., a peripheral block, in a fisheye image captured using a fisheye lens, the scaling process being performed on the basis of fisheye information, e.g., a fisheye lens projection method, and the radius of the fisheye image. In the scaling process, the motion vector of the peripheral block is converted to a motion vector in an image free of fisheye distortion before being scaled, and the motion vector after scaling is converted to a motion vector in a fisheye image. Any difference between the motion vector of a current prediction block and a predicted motion vector is reduced by the scaling process, thereby making it possible to improve the efficiency of encoding a fisheye image.
