Abstract:

This image processing device is provided with: a first extracting means for extracting, on the basis of distance information for an object, a first area indicating the object; a second extracting means for extracting a contour direction of a contour of the first area; a surface detecting means for detecting a first surface in the first area on the basis of the contour direction extracted by the second extracting means; a first vertex detecting means for detecting a first vertex indicating the boundary of the first surface; and a determining means for determining, on the basis of at least the first surface and the first vertex, a main surface of the object indicated in the first area.
